Course Objectives:

            * Improved fluency in translating and understanding literary texts in Classical Ancient Greek

            * Functional command of major grammatical and syntactical constructions in Classical Ancient Greek

            * Understanding and awareness of social, cultural and literary themes as presented in the Greek ÔnovelÕ Daphnis and Chloe by Longus

            * Improvement in critical thinking, speaking and writing skills as applied in active, engaged translation of Classical Ancient Greek and in short literary essays.
