Syllabus/Daily Assignments - Latin 102 Spring 2008

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Assignments listed beside the dates are to BE COMPLETED BY THAT DATE.

R = Read, V = Vocabulary, Ex = Exercise in Shelmerdine (Shelm identifies named exercises in Shelmerdine), ExOL = Exercise in Shelmerdine OnLine, ConvLat = Conversation in Traupman

For Intro and Vocab you should read the grammatical information on the pages listed and study the vocabulary words for that new lesson, so that when I introduce these in class, you will already be familiar with the words, the grammatical points to be covered, and the general terminology to be used in that class as I reinforce and reexplain these as presented in the book. Please note that ALL Vocabulary lists are in the back of your book ordered by chapter beginning on p. 299

IMPORTANT NOTE: Each lesson in Shelmerdine has additional exercises online that are self-correcting. (The online site for ShelmerdineÕs Introduction to Latin is linked HERE and on the main page for this course). I will assign these, but not always cover them in class – they are intended as supplementary work to reinforce the principles of that lesson. A crossword that summarizes grammatical principles, form drills and vocabulary is included for each lesson and should always be completed at the end of the lesson. Vocabulary drills, such as flash cards, and form recognition drills are also included.
