When did mankind become intelligent? For what motives?

The Anthropology teacher said that necesarilly there must have been a superior intervention. He said: "You need a force stronger than a rock's weight to move it, so therefore, the pre-men could have never been able to become intelligent by themselves".

I thought: What happens if you let that rock be in free fall?

When it reaches the ground, it will have a lot more force than I applied to it.

I think that evolution is like gravity. We´re in a free fall, evrey time moving faster. We became intelligent, whatever inteligence is, thanks to evolution.

Now I ask: If we fall every time faster, will we ever reach the ground? If we do, will we crash or bounce?
