Preceptor evaluation

Once we recognize that we do not err out of laziness, stupidity, or evil intent, we can liberate ourselves from the impossible burden of trying to be permanently right. We can take seriously the proposition that we could be in error, without deeming ourselves idiotic or unworthy.

-Karen Schulz, in Being Wrong: Adventures in the Margin of Error

This is the largest component of your grade. The best way to do well here is not to focus on how well you are doing, but rather to focus on what you are doing. Focus on caring for your patients the best way you can. Some of the specific actions involved in taking good care of patients will comprise the preceptor evaluation form; a copy is enclosed. You should be able to tell easily which behaviors are desirable and which are not. Do the desirable things; avoid doing the undesirable things.
