You are strongly advised to build into your schedule periods of time in which you are not enrolled in a RCEA, during which you can accomplish your residency application interviews. MPTO can be used for residency interview opportunities that arise on short notice, but realize that the MPTO balance declines by one day for each day absent from duty.
