Responsibility

This is a long and complex course. I try to lay out the operational details in advance. I expect you to be thoroughly familiar with this advance documentation, and to use it as a resource when operational questions arise.

But ``the best-laid plans of mice and men often go astray.'' There will inevitably be unexpected developments. Faculty illness, student illness, patient care demands, and even natural disasters like floods can affect the running of the course. If the situation is one that, after referring to this course manual, you feel you cannot handle, please contact my office. Please also bring a proposed solution. It need not be the best or the final solution. But I expect that you will at least have thought about the problem and come up with some options. When you make a decision, have your rationale well thought out, and be prepared to handle the consequences. I will try to do the same.
