Korean Studies |
|
Our Korean language courses range from an elementary first-year level through a third-year level designed for advanced speakers. All courses emphasize ability in speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills, and will enable the successful student superior communication skills. In cultural areas, we offer an introductory course on Korean Civilization (AAAS 210) and the more advanced course Language, Culture, and Society in Korea (AAAS 310). Linguistic offerings include Structure of Korean (AAAS 218) and an advanced comparative course on East Asian Linguistics (AAAS 439). Literary courses include both a pre-modern (AAAS 240) and modern course (AAAS 241) in translation, and a more advanced course using Korean readings (AAAS 380W). We also have pedagogical courses designed for those interested in teaching Korean as a foreign language (AAAS 449) and practicum in teaching Korean for undergraduate students. |
