This Behavioural Virtual Laboratory (BVL) was developed having in mind two goals: First, for testing and analyzing the properties of the Behaviourial Columns Architecture (BeCA) action selection mechanism (González, 2000; Gershenson et. al., 2000). Second, to provide a useful tool for biologist and roboticists to experiment with the animal behaviour properties that BeCA is able to simulate. Properties of the BeCA have been presented by Dr. Pedro Pablo González in his PhD. thesis an in some of our publications. For more information, please check the ASIA homepage.
The simulation was implemented in Java, using VRML through EAI. You can download the version 1.02 with source code and some experiments which can be loaded.
