MINOR IN KOREAN STUDIES
The minor in Korean Studies consists of six courses beyond the level of 102.
Three required courses:
¡¤ AAAS 218 (Structure of Korean) ¡¤ AAAS 241 (Modern Korean Literature) ¡¤ KOR 203 (Intermediate Korean I)
Three other courses:
¡¤ Two courses must be at the 300 or 400 ¡¤ One course must be a content course
Content courses are composed of a pre-modern literature course (AAAS 240), modern literature courses (AAAS 241, AAAS 380), a history course (AAAS 210), culture courses (AAAS 310, AAAS 313) and linguistics courses (AAAS 218, AAAS 439, and AAAS 449).
Students who already have competence at the different levels of Korean language do not have to take KOR 203 (Intermediate Korean I). They may take higher-level language courses and/or other content courses to bring the total number of courses to six.
Transfer credit is counted toward the 24-credit requirement for the minor, but students must still complete at least two upper-level Korean courses (eight credits) at Binghamton.
Courses taken as Pass/Fail do not count toward the minor.
