We welcome enthusiastic and capable students of all levels (undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral) to join our research group to work on exciting projects in the field of small-scale mechanics. Potential projects include, but are not limited to, in situ electron microscopy nanomechanics of low-dimensional nanomaterials, Scanning Probe (AFM, STM, etc) and Raman (including TERS) microscopy characterzation, polymer nanocomposites, bio-inspired hybrid systems, nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS). Students will have hands-on learning experience in nanoscale experimental characterization techniques, and quantitative thinking development in both theoretical modeling and data analysis. Interested persons with science (physics, chemistry and materials) and engineering (mechanical, biomedical, chemical, electrical, materials) backgrounds are encouraged to contact Dr. Ke (cke@binghamton.edu) for further inquiries.
